CONGRATULATIONS!
SLU will recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of our 2022, 2021, and 2020 graduates with a hybrid (in-person and interactive-virtual) Commencement Ceremony. Here you will find all of the information you will need in order to participate.

Date: Thursday, June 2nd, 2022
Time: 4:00pm
Graduating students and faculty must arrive by 3:00pm
Guests should arrive by 3:30pm
Location: New York City Public Library - Main Branch
476 Fifth Avenue and 42nd Street New York, NY 10018
Graduates, guests, faculty, and staff use the side entrance located at 42nd Street between 5th and 6th Avenue
HOW TO PARTICIPATE VIRTUALLY:
Select the “virtual" participation option when you RSVP for the Commencement Ceremony. Details about how to participate virtually will be sent prior to the event.
HEALTH & SAFETY PROTOCOLS:
Masks and proof of full COVID-19 vaccination are required for all graduates and guests at the in-person Commencement Ceremony.
CHECKLIST:
- Meet with your advisor to ensure graduation requirements are met. This applies to students graduating in spring or summer 2022. Students who graduated during the 2019-20 and 2020-21 academic years, skip this item.
- Apply for graduation. This deadline applies to students graduating in spring or summer 2022. Students who graduated during the 2019-20 and 2020-21 academic years, skip this item. If you missed the deadline or have questions, please contact your advisor and the Office of the Registrar at Registrar@slu.cuny.edu.
- Order your cap and gown through Jostens. Last day to order was April 26th, 2022.* If you missed the order deadline, SLU has a limited number of cap and gown for graduates to borrow on a first come, first serve basis. Email Commencement@slu.cuny.edu no later than May 13th to request a cap and gown.
- RSVP & order tickets for the commencement ceremony no later than May 13th.
- Complete Graduation Survey
- Update contact information in CUNYfirst and with the SLU Alumni Association for future alumni communications.
- Email Commencement@slu.cuny.edu no later than May 13th if you or your guest need any accommodations. *All graduates who elect to march at Commencement Ceremony must have a cap and gown. “Graduation Regalia” includes a cap, gown, and tassel. Masters’ degree students also wear a hood.
