Jim Mandiberg is Associate Professor and Chair, Organizational Management & Leadership at the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College. He previously taught at the two universities in Japan, the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and Columbia University. His research focuses on mutual support and collaborative economic and infrastructure development among identity communities of highly stigmatized and excluded populations, such as people with mental health conditions, histories of homelessness, and more recently seniors. His work includes various organizational forms, including cooperatives, but he is especially interested in the use of complex organizational forms to work around legal and economic constraints. jm945@hunter.cuny.edu
