David Van Arsdale is Professor of Sociology and the Norma Foody Endowed Professor at Onondaga Community College of the State University of New York. He is the author of The Poverty of Work: Selling Servant, Slave and Temporary Labor on the Free Market (Haymarket Books, 2018), a book praised for its ethnographic and historical accounts of temporary and employment agency work.
