Attorney Chaumtoli Huq is an Associate Professor at the CUNY School of Law. She is the founding editor of Law@theMargins, a social media platform that highlights the way laws and legal institutions empower or delimit communities and individuals seeking rights and social justice. An advocate for low-income New Yorkers, she was appointed General Counsel for Litigation for the New York City Office of the Public Advocate in 2014, becoming the highest-ranking Bangladeshi-American in New York City government at the time. Huq has held leadership positions in many organizations, including Legal Services of NYC and MFY Legal Services and the Asian American Legal Defense and Education Fund.
