Deyanira Del Rio is Co-Director of the New Economy Project, which helps to promote economic justice and community-controlled finance in immigrant neighborhoods and communities of color. She is the Board chair of the Lower East Side People’s Federal Credit Union, a not-for-profit financial cooperative, and a member of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York’s Community Advisory Group. She is the recipient of the Frances Perkins Working People’s Award from the Fiscal Policy Institute, the Mujeres Destacadas (Outstanding Women) award from El Diario/La Prensa, and the Revson Fellowship on the Future of the City of New York. dey@neweconomynyc.org
