Michael Haber directs Hofstra University’s Community and Economic Development (CED) Clinic, which provides transactional assistance to nonprofit community-based organizations and small businesses in and around Nassau County. The Clinic uses corporate, finance, real estate, and tax law as tools in community-led efforts to improve conditions of low-income neighborhoods, including Long Island communities impacted by “Superstorm Sandy.”
Professor Haber is also a Director of the American Bar Association Business Law Section Committee on Community Economic Development. Before coming to the Hofstra, Haber was a senior staff attorney in the CED Unit at Brooklyn Legal Services Corporation, focusing on affordable housing, nonprofit mergers and acquisitions, and green-building law.
